KDT spinal decompression therapy for neck and back pain

KDT Spinal Decompression Therapy

A Gentle Approach to Neck and Back Pain

We’re excited to offer the KDT Spinal Decompression System at Feils Knapp Chiropractic and Wellness Center!

Spinal decompression is a gentle, non-surgical therapy that uses a specialized table to apply controlled traction to the spine. Your spinal discs act as cushions between the bones of your spine. Decompression changes the pressure on these discs and surrounding structures and may help relieve symptoms associated with certain spinal conditions.

For appropriate candidates, decompression may help with:

  • Neck and back pain
  • Sciatica and radiating pain
  • Bulging or herniated discs
  • Degenerative disc changes
  • Certain cases of spinal stenosis

What to Expect

Your First Visit

Your first visit takes approximately 45–60 minutes for a consultation, evaluation, and discussion of treatment options.

Treatment Sessions

Treatment sessions typically last 20–30 minutes. You’ll relax on the decompression table while it gently applies controlled pulling forces to your spine. You may feel a stretch, gentle pulling, or very little sensation at all.

Your doctor will determine whether decompression is appropriate for you and recommend a treatment plan based on your individual needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does decompression hurt?

Treatment is designed to be gentle and controlled. If you experience pain or unusual discomfort, let your care team know.

What if I don’t feel a stretch?

That’s completely normal! Some people feel a noticeable stretch, while others feel very little. Not feeling a strong pull doesn’t necessarily mean the treatment isn’t working.

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different. Your doctor will recommend a treatment plan based on your condition and monitor your progress along the way.

When will I feel results?

Some patients notice improvement over time, while others may experience limited benefit. Results vary from person to person.

Is decompression right for everyone?

No. Your doctor will review your health history, symptoms, and examination findings to determine whether you’re a good candidate.

What should I do after treatment?

Follow your doctor’s recommendations, which may include gentle walking, stretches, or specific exercises. Let your care team know if your symptoms worsen or you experience unusual discomfort.

Does insurance cover decompression?

Decompression therapy is currently an out-of-pocket expense at our office and is not billed to insurance. Treatments typically range from $50–$70 per session, depending on the area being treated and your doctor’s recommendations.
